
*We are currently hiring part-time baristas at our Downtown Spartanburg location! Applicants must be available for the day shifts (10am - 5pm) during the week, and have weekend availability. We will not have any morning shifts available. Applicants MUST have knowledge of our products and services, and be available a minimum of 25 working hours each week to be considered.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Barista:
Responsibilities & Duties
· Can converse with customers to confirm their orders, and correctly key in orders to our point of sale system.
· Can collect payments for orders and correctly count back any change to the customer.
· Can prepare all drinks, wraps, smoothies, bowls, and other menu items.
· Must always move with urgency, on the customer’s time!
· Stays productive and proactive throughout the entire shift, even when business is slow.
· Makes personal connections with customers every day through genuine interactions, warm smiles, and open and positive body language.
· Knows our menu offerings inside and out; notices if a customer may not be ordering what they truly want and will be able to help the customer identify and correctly order their desired drink, offering suggestions and recommendations when appropriate.
· Brings their best self to work every day (good hygiene, plenty of sleep, clean clothes, kept hair/makeup). Dresses appropriately for their assigned position.
· Is familiar with our shift change duties, checklists, and weekly chores so that they can stay on task and execute any of them when needed.
· Always clocked in and ready to work at their assigned position when their shift time begins.
· Treats teammates and customers with respect and kindness.
· Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organizational standards and sanitation regulations.
Work Schedule Requirements
· Works a flexible schedule, which can include early mornings (7 a.m.) and evenings (8 p.m.).
· Works a minimum of 18 hours per week.
· Follows company procedure for communicating time off requests.
· Regularly works weekends (Saturday + Sunday) and is available to work holidays, if necessary.
Skills and Qualifications
· Can lift up to 50 lbs.
· Can stand comfortably for hours at a time.
· Can climb a ladder and use a stepladder.
· Can stand, sit, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as necessary to stock and clean.
· Can safely use a utility knife.
· Can create and maintain genuine, uplifting interactions with strangers for up to five minutes at a time.
· Minimum 1yr experience in a customer facing role.

Base + Tips (current staff averages +$17/hr)
FOOD + JUICE PREP:

Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties.

Understand and comply with standard portion sizes, juicing methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.

Clean and sanitize work station area including tables, shelves, walls, blenders, juicers, and refrigeration equipment.
-
Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
-
Take and record temperature of food and food storage areas, such as refrigerators and freezers.
-
Wash, peel, and cut various foods, such as fruits and vegetables, to prepare for juicing or serving.
-
Portion according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications and store the juice, or bottle and label for consumption.

Weigh or measure ingredients.
-
Receive and store food supplies, equipment, and utensils in refrigerators, cupboards, and other storage areas.
-
Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers.
-
Assist baristas and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed, and provide baristas with needed items.
-
Carry food supplies, equipment, and utensils to and from storage and work areas.
-
Use manual or electric appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foods.
-
Promptly inform supervisors when equipment is not working properly and when food and supplies are getting low, and order needed items.
-
Make special dressings and sauces as condiments for products.
-
Uses the Standard Recipe Card for preparing all products; does not rely on the memory of oneself or others.
-
Complete opening and closing checklists and assists others in opening and closing the kitchen.
-
Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.
-
Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.

Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

· Can climb a ladder and use a stepladder.
· Can stand, sit, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as necessary to stock and clean.
· Can safely use a utility knife.
· Can operate our industrial cold-press juicer in the proper manner.
